I DONT want my parents at my graduation?

My mom expected me to fail since day 1. Whenever I had a hospital visit and missed school she stood beside me made me cry and said I'd fail. Whenever I did bad on a test my mom would say I would never make it through high school. My dad doesn't approve says I'm too busy doing useless things like dance and cheerleading. He is a very strict catholic and very conservative. I had to pick up a job to support myself. I'm considering whether or not to purchase my own graduation gown and not tell my parents or tell them the wrong date for graduation. Will this plan eventually backfire? If you were a parenthow would you feel if your child didn't want you to come?

Also invite your parents its important you will feel really left out when you see everyone else's parents taking photo's of there kids graduating.

My parents didn't attend mine due to being cheap and not wanting to pay $25 and I was furious at that.

Ahh the narrow minded bunch. I hate those types few of my friends have parents like them I hate them with pure hatred. Lucky my parents werent that bad.

From one fellow Asian to another invite them along however they won't say nasty things infront of everyone they can't. They'll be very humble however later on they'll probably be comparing university prerequisite scores or TEE scores (don't know what tertiary tests are called in the states).

Deal with it for now and try not to strive too hard to impress them its your life not theirs. Try to find a stable career and move out your parents will try to keep you as long as possible in house.

Do it! If my parents did that i would go to my graduation and tell them the wrong day and time. And go to it myself, of they asked me why id tell them "it was my happiest day of high school, you wernt going to ruin it for me"

:c just be the bigger person and let them come. It's your day and dont focus on them. I feel if you lied about the date or didn't tell them about it things would just get worse
