Is my father jealous of my success?

My dad and I both opened up our own separate retail businesses this past year, his did not succeed and mine did. When he was opening his store, i did everything I could to give advice, or my input.. and he just always thought he knew it all so i removed myself from everything he was doing and started my own. one year later I am doing extremely well, and he is not...

I don't bring my success up, or rub it in is face. And I also don't bring up what is not working for his business. it just sucks that I can't share my achievements with him, as It will not be well received. He won't be happy for me.. or tell me he is proud of me... or anything like that, and I feel as though it is jealousy. It is very weird to have to deal with it from the person who should be your biggest fan...

I really wanted to be a part of helping him, but my efforts were never well received. So I focused on building my own business.

How do I deal with this? what is going through his mind? Why can't he be happy and proud of me?

Is this jealousy? f he asked for my advice on his business i would be more than happy to help, but he doesn't take me seriously. even though my business is working!

then say that let u help me

do whatever u can

and make him proud
