Asian parents against interracial dating, need help?

I'm 24 years old, I'm half Chinese/Korean. I started dating a half mexican/white girl when I was a sophomore in high school, my parents don't like the idea of me start dating too early so I date her secretly. She's now 25 years old, . We never fight, or cheat on each other, etc.. I feel like she's the right person. We're both halfers.

When I was a teenager, my parents told me that when I'm older, I should go back to China or go to Korea; find a girlfriend and bring her to U. S. I don't like the idea because I'm not attracted to Asian girls, I really don't. My parents said that all my relative only date within the same race so I should do that too. My parents think non-Asian people are dumb and they don't respect their parents.

Now my parents aren't happy because I didn't listen to them, they disapprove, they want me to break up with her. But seriously I can't break up with the right person that I love, and she's 1 month pregnant and I'm the father. I have to take responsibility and agree to get marry in 2015. I don't know what to do

don't obey your parents, follow your heart but always remain respectful to your parents. your parents are probably old and their blood pressure can easily spike and for sure you don't want anything bad happen to them. try your best to be always calm and apologetic (for disobeying their wish) when you reason out to them. i think eventually your parents will be able to accept your gf especially when they will soon see their cute grandchild. ^-^

I know how conservative they are. But I also know that most of them are strongly care about "family" that's one of the reason why they want you to marry someone within the race, but also, they would love to see a grandchild. I'm almost certain that they wouldn't just ask you to break up with a girl who is carrying your child.

As a fellow Asian I went through the same with my parents saying I should date a Chinese girl and if I can't meet one here I should go to China and they'll introduce me to one. I got tired of it and told them I date whoever the hell I want because she's gonna be with me not them. They stopped when I turned 17.

After you become an adult, your parents can advise you but they have no right to decide who your should date or who you shouldn't. Make them understand this. Its YOUR life and its YOU who's dating this girl. They don't need to poke their nose into this, whatever your background may be.

I'm an Asian. In fact, I'm an Indian and here parents controlling their children is much more prevalent than in other parts of Asia. And yet, I'm saying this. They can only control you if you LET them.

I think parents sometimes meddle in their children's affairs too much. They should not be making decisions for you especially on matters of the heart. Those are the ones that you will take full responsibility for! My advice to you is to get married in 2015, especially considering that she is pregnant. You are both now responsible for another life and you should do everything in your power to prepare for this. I think you are being very brave by standing up to your parents and doing what you feel is right. Remember that you have your own life and that the choices you make will ultimately be your story. Do not leave your girlfriend in the lurch either, it took two to make that baby, you owe her your support!

While my parents push me to marry a filipino girl, they're not forcing it. It's absolutely nothing against Asians. I'm just open to dating any girl roughly my age. I mean, who knows. I might just end up marrying a filipino anyway.

Restricting (and especially organizing) your lovelife is completely unreasonable. Ignore your parents for this one.

She's pregnant. You don't owe priorities to your parents dating preferences, your focus is on your future baby and your parents will have to understand. They won't like it, they'll be upset, but they'll learn to adapt with time.

I am also an Asian guy dating White girl. My parents almost never be against me, because they know my opinions are too strong to change.
Once they expressed their slight suspect, and I told them "FUCK OFF", and they had never been against me anymore.

I dont buy it if parents object a relationship because of the person's skin colour. U have to be responsible. If parents dont accept they have an option to disown the child.

Chinese old school parents are set in there ways any thing anyone tells you here won't matter to your mom and dad. Its like pulling teeth to get them to see eye to eye with you and even if they let you do it deep down they won't agree with it at all.

Honestly if you threaten them with say you're gonna bring home a black partner they'll stop temporarily. I've tried, but that's not how I really got them to stop permanently.

Plenty of my Asian friends' parents disapproved of their children dating IR, but they persisted and they eventually had to accept it.
