Don't buy one behind their backs, that's just bad, keep asking and hinting, just say, "My friends invited me to the pool, but I don't want to go because I'm too embarrassed. I'm the only one without a bikini, and every one thinks that I'm not confident with my body." they will feel bad for body-shaming you and after a while, just go up to them and ask, be straight to the point and say "Can I get this bikini?" Don't say, "Can I get this swimsuit, because they might be expecting a one-piece or tankini and be surprised, this will make her say no. Ask your mum (sorry I'm Australian) rather than your dad because she will understand because she has been through it before and she knows how hard it is trying to fit in, or trying to impress people.
Hope this helped evryone who was wondering :)

Maybe the only version of bikinis they can think of are teeny tiny. I bet if you found something with a little more coverage you could talk them into one.
Both of these are super cute but a little more modest than a regular bikini

Buy one and just hide it.
What are their reasons for saying no?
Talk to them and see if you can make a compromise. They may be willing to meet you partway. Consider a somewhat less skimpy alternative, and see if your parents will bite:

Buy one and keep it at a friends house and wear it away from home
Don't wear a bikini then.
And how old are you?
