Etiquette of texting married men as a single woman?

I’ve heard from some people texting married men is a no-no, but I seem to find myself doing it

1) Drama that happens at work when one of us is away that the other person should be aware of
2) Arranging Mixed-sex off hours co-worker social gatherings when I don’t know my male coworkers’ wives
3) Sending male coworkers pictures from said gatherings
4) Dropping off baby gifts to a friend’s husband

Nothing ever inappropriate. But it still feels weirdly intimate to text someone else’s husband.

It depends on how dramatic his wife is, and what your intentions are.

In my friend circles the men and the women communicate and hang out openly. There's times I've hung out or texted my best friends wives, because they've turned into best friends too. And there's no intentions of anything, so there's never been drama or any of that.

However if his wife is the controlling/insecure/dramatic kind, she will see you as a threat even if that's not your goal.

Your friends are correct. It is considered poor etiquette by most women. Be careful or you may find you have no married women friends.

Why do you need to be in contact with a married man? If you're friends with him it's fine, if you're just office mates then stick to email.
