Other than strategically planning so my culture isn't wiped out by via replacement by differing birth rates I'd choose 2 children since that's replacement levels. A stable population may be better long term.
Exception is if one dies (rare, tragic, but happens) I'd have another, that would make 3 but 2 made it to adulthood.
As a species we should work towards an average of 2 births per woman to stabilize the population, lowering it is stupid though as much of the work load would be too great like in Japan, though the 2 children average would keep the population steady but it may very slowly decrease due to premature deaths. This would be slow enough that it could be tweaked to be compensated for.

In case I'm left to be a single parent and in case the world goes to shit. I'm able to care for and protect this one child
I want 3. I think. But maybe only two. Who knows. We'll see when I get to that point. Also depends on my husband.
I voted 5+. I have my third on the way in 3 months. If finances were absolutely no problem, as many as possible.

2-3 children ideally. But wow, I'm very surprised by the poll. Many girls don't want any kids. This disappointed me.
I'll just dote on my nephews and nieces. No point going through all the trouble and pain of child bearing and rearing.
I don't know, I usually get full after 3 or 4 but it's always good to keep some when you need some at night.
I already have two little engliscs running around, and will maybe have one or two more.
A boy and a girl. A boy so I can do guy stuff with him and take him fishing, etc. And a girl so my partner has someone to go shopping or do girls stuff with
I really don’t want kids but if I was ready for them I’d want two. Emily and Joseph
I voted none because I already have a child & that’s all I want.
3 or something. I will count what the father wants.
Depends on how much i can handle. If i can maybe 3, currently I'm not having baby fever so I'm indifferent
Three. A boy and two girls. It’s just what feels *right* to me and always has.
My boyfriend wants the same. We’re big family people.I need a "I have no clue" option. I am still trying to figure that out.
Just one...
So that sufficient care and love can be given by both the parents and they don't have to worry too muchi have always wanted a boy and a girl of a similar age
1 boy, 1 girl, or 1 of each (similarly aged, or even twin)
