What's One Of The Dumbest Reasons Your Parents Ever Punished You For?

When I was a child, my mother occasionally would try a new recipe and sometimes they were quite awful. One night, she made Swedish meatballs and maybe she misread the recipe because they had ten times too much cinnamon in them and they tasted absolutely awful. Being a man of character and conviction, I refused to eat such swill. Instead of her admitting her mistake, I was sent to bed at 6 pm without anything to eat and I remained there until the morning.

On another occasion, when I was about 9 years old, she saw a new product in the grocery store and she wanted to try it: mint flavored pickled beets. I am not fond of pickled beets and I hate mint flavoring. I told her that it sounded awful and I would probably throw up if I was forced to eat any of them. She took that as a challenge and forced me to eat three of four. A few minutes later, I suddenly threw up on the kitchen table. She forced me to clean up the mess. I have never forgiven her for that unreasonable behavior. :) :) :)

When I was 15 my mom punished me because I told her that her boyfriend was a piece of shit who was going to hurt her. I had overheard a conversation he had on the phone with his friends about the games he was playing with her head. She accused me of just being jealous of a man being in the house after so long. I kept pushing it so she grounded me. The next day he showed his true colors and she apologised to me.

I was very very very good friends with loving and supportive friend for around 16 years and when she decided she wanted nothing to do with me - my dad blamed me and said it was my fault for being a bad friend - my parents were also best friends with her parents and all 3 friendships suffered when my friend ghosted me. I never found out why but I prayed to God to tell me why she ghosted me and in my dream she said she thought I molested her brother because his sexual organs didn't work properly. I don't know - that might have been her actual reason for ghosting me since her brother is very tall and good looking but has never had a girlfriend. I met her younger brother when he was just 1-4 weeks old and the last time we talked he was around 20.

Not me, my brother- it's a better story, and it was my grandma not my parents.
My grandma was making dinner and she asked what piece of chicken my brother wanted. He pointed to the biggest one in the pot and said " that one". My grandma said he couldn't have it, so naturally he said "well why did you ask me" he got sent to the basement with no food. But me and my youngest brother we snuck food to him cause we felt he didn't do anything wrong. We got into trouble for that too.
When my parents got home they saw us eating food that we obviously went out and bought, that's when my grandma came down and tattled on us. "Your children are rude and disrespectlful"

I think when I was 8 or 9, my mom was busy with gardening, I helped her plant some flowers and I saw a spider and I killed it with a little spade and my mom started yelling at me and then gave me a hiding with a wooden spoon inside the house and told me to think about what I just did for killing an innocent spider 😅. Now in present times I'm programmed to never kill insects and this is probably because of my mom.

My mom thought I was taking "Christ" out of "Christmas" because I was sending a rushed text and said Christmas. I meant nothing by it but she was horribly offended and said if I call it that then I should not expect a gift from her. She didn't talk to me for a while.

I really didn't get punished because I didn't get in trouble really. My mom told me when I was really young she spanked me for running across her freshly waxed floor. It was back when kitchen flooring was washed and a liquid wax would be apply to keep it shiny. We didn't get spanked past 4 and I don't remember ever being spanked. I guess I was spanked for trying to run across the road. No fences back then we just had to control ourselves.

Actually can it be for sibling? My sister tried to cook frozen peas and she didn’t cook them right they were still frozen so I threw them at her and she made me eat the ones on the floor. From that day on I’ve always hated peas. Even if there mixed with a good I push them aside.
