My boyfriend's short attention span, is it just a guy thing? Girls, is your boy the same?

Something that irritates me so much is that whenever I speak to my boyfriend, I have to repeat it twice or three times which annoys the sh*t out of me. He says he loves me lots and I know he does (We've been together for a year now ) But I'm starting to feel as if he is losing interest in me ? Is that the case? Or are all boys like this? They just have a short attention span. It just hurts when I am speaking of something really significant and he lacks attention, it starts upsetting me. Is it just a guy thing? He says he can't change. Therefore, he will never be able to listen to me properly? Especially when I am in desperate need of someone to talk to? I find it is actually making me quite miserable in this relationship. They say communication is a big key in a healthy relationship, is it really inevitable for him to start listening properly? Or are guys just really naturally ignorant and I shouldn't be mad at him ? Girls do you experience the same thing with your boyfriends?

its normal to some extent. maybe you just talk too much? a lot of females do that so we just pretend to listen sometimes because its boring as f***. but if you're talking about something serious then its a d*** move on his part to not listen.

heres an example:

boring sh*t: "so we were shopping in that one store and I saw this really cute purple dress but they only had one and Amanda wanted it too but then we found out that it didn't fit either of us so we cried on each others' shoulders..."

real talk: "this guy called me a slut today because I wouldn't give him a handjob"

you should talk to him about it then (ironic haha). try this: say something completely random when you think he's not paying attention.

Women usually talk WAY too much for guys, if you want to talk you need to find some female friends, should be easy with how great female to female communication is

I think in some ways all boys are like this. Boys have a different way of paying attention and sharing their emotions. I've noticed that most boys need to be multitasking (it fiddling or tapping their foot) while listening or talking - this is because a lot of boys need to be physical.

sooo it's not just your boyfriend, but explain to him again that it bothers you and you really need him to listen to you for a few minutes.
