I always thought my cousin was just this nobody, loser who worked a soul crushing office job and then went home to his family. But i recently found out something about his past that couldn't be less ture to what i originally thought about him.
As a kid i always knew my cousin was trouble when he was a teenager. In the early 2000s. He was a massive goth and used to get sent home from college for drinking and doing drugs.
He grew up being raised by my grandma and grandad and my dad pretty much and they'd always have to go into the headmasters office for him.
I was recently watching a documentary about hackers and i heard my cousins named mentioned and as if he was a big thing in the press back when this happened. I just thought it would be another guy but then they showed a video of the arrest and it was my cousin from a year before i was born, in all his goth clothes being arrested in my grandmas house and there was police looking around for evidence in all the rooms.
Basically what happened was, my cousin made and sold some kind of computer programing system to hackers and one woman he sold it too did something exactly illegal and then framed my cousin for it.
He eventually was found innocent and was charged a lesser sentence for the computer program thing he made but it doesn't stop there. He lives a pretty normal life now and has a wife and baby on the way. I knew something had happened some years back but wasn't told exactly the whole truth about it.
His house got broken into and burgled by a gang of organised criminal's working with the women who framed him and they stole all his computers and smashed his houses up.
I understand my family were trying to protect me but i think it would have been better if they'd just been honest with me from the beginning. I don't know if I'll upset people by bringing it up again, but i feel i need to know the whole truth now.
