I think my mom's an alcoholic?

I think my mom is an alcoholic, but I'm not entirely sure.

One, she doesn't get drunk every night, but pretty often she does. Whenever she gets drunk, she doesn't stop. Like a glass of wine or two once a day isn't bad, it's actually pretty normal. But when she drinks she'll finish a whole 24 case or an entire wine bottle all by herself and be hammered. She does it in front of the kids too. My brother's 6, my sister is 13, and I and my brother are in highschool. She always slurs around, is super loud, stumbles, and pisses the bed. Sometimes she'll go out and come back really drunk.

I'd say she gets really drunk about 7 times a month.

And this one time, she got drunk and was yelling and crying a lot. She was completely hammered to the point where she needed help to walk, and she STILL wanted to go out to a bar with her friends. I literally had to force her to sit and called my aunt cause I didn't know what to do.

She's certainly got a problem, most important thing is to keep your 6 year old brother physically safe, could your aunt be around when she gets like this?,,,

Yeah I think you're right. My dad was the same when I was younger. It's completely irresponsible of her to get drunk in her house with kids around. I'd understand the odd drink in celebration or to chill but a whole crate is just stupid

Yeah, that's definitely a problem. You'll need to really talk with your family about what to do about it, she'll need a lot of help from loved ones.
