Should I take my mom's dog?

So last year my step dad got a puppy that me and my mom didn't want. I was at home with him and another we already have and I got frustrated. My mom jokes about when I move out I'm taking both dogs and I'm like I'll take the first dog. The first dog is chill and goes to people. The second one is aggressive and barks/snaps at everybody even me at times. I care for him but I'll just leave him at my mom's

Why not find an adoptive family for the dog? Or even a dog rescue? Remember you’re not obligated to keep it and if neither of you want it, you could find a loving home. I know it’s a hard choice but it’s the least selfish.

He's been with us for a year, I'm afraid someone would hurt him. I just want the other dog we have. She was honestly fine.

If you find a rescue near you, I promise that’s not the case. I actually got my dog from a rescue 3 years ago, and they were amazing. They had been treating my dog like family. They recommended us to a vet and paid for all his medical expenses. We were obligated to bring him back if we did not want him anymore, otherwise they’d press charges, which was admirable in my opinion. We had to have an interview to meet him, and for them to meet us, and be sure we were a loving family. This is what organizations do. All I’m saying is to do what’s best for the dog. If you know your mom doesn’t want him, and neither do you, then there’s a family ready to handle his behavior and take care of him. You’d be making a great choice. You can even see the facilities when you take the dog. These people pay for expenses with their own money and donations. They are passionate about finding each dog a good home and protecting them❤️
