Do you spend a lot of time with your parents?

As much as my mother and I fight we still spend a lot of time together.

I Think I'm about to.
My mom has been living with my sister helping her buy a house for the last past 6 years I think and I get a phone call the other day and my mom and she's pretty upset and she says. Can you come pick me up I asked her what was wrong can you just come pick me up okay so I do and when I get there I can see she's just totally stressed that's what was wrong. She's starts telling me how my nephew came home drunk got any big argument with my sister and my mom yes the next door neighbor game over and he threatened him my mom and my sister with a knife and then she tells me this has been going on for a couple months he asked me if I would take her someplace so she could find a place to live. I said what do you mean and she said she just can't take it anymore and I don't blame her. I told her she's not going to go find a place to live cuz she said well I'm not staying here any longer. So I told her to come to my house to spend the night there think about what you want to do. So the next morning use up we started talking and I asked her when she decided she told me there's no way that she can go back there my nephew is out of control and he's going to hurt somebody so she asked me if I would take her someplace so she could find an apartment or something my mom doesn't have much time left on this planet and I told her she's not going to do that I got two extra rooms she said well you don't want me to live with you I said yeah you were right LOL but that's besides the point I said we'll go up and get all your stuff tomorrow and you can just live here she asked me if I was sure I said yes. And then she tells me well. I'll pay you rent I kind of laughed a little bit I said yeah right she said no I will it's only fair that just going to like looked at her and I go my sister's name is Lori this is what is Lori charging yet and she told me $1,500 a month and I about shipped my pants I should you kidding me. She shook her head no I'm not and I cannot believe that she told me that and then she asked me so how much do you want me to pay you for it I said well this is a better place to live I would think so I'm going to charge you 1600 and I have the biggest smile on my face he had to have seen her eyes I said I'm not going to charge you anything no wonder why you have no money she said no it's only fair that I pay you something I said no it's only fair that you just keep your money she said well I'll pay the power or the TV and I said no you're going to keep your money and that's just the way it is so I guess I'm going to be spending the time that I'm home I guess I will be seeing a little bit more of my mom this is going to be a new experience

Dad's passed.
Mom is not doing well.
I live the furthest of all my siblings.
I arranged for a surprise mother's day (My wife's idea) and now I'm going back for Thanksgiving.
It's about 1300 miles driving there.
We talk but she's forgetting how to use the phone.

I try to, though probably not as much as I should. I see my dad almost every day because he lives a few houses down the street from me. My mom calls or visits me once a week, mostly to check in and see how I'm doing. Occasionally me and her will go out on the weekend just to get out of the house and be social.

But as I get older and work more? It's easier said than done spending time with them because I'm so tired and cranky after work and on the weekends, I just want to be left alone and rest; not be bothered. However I -try- to spend at least some time with them because I know they're getting older, so my time with them is limited.

No I don’t get along with my parents. They get angry that I’m adult and try control me treat me like baby wen I see them. They don’t love me they want control me only punish me for no reason as they no longer have kids to take care of. If I see them daily or every weekend they will say I’m single no boyfriend so I aviod see them. They only fight and are divorced. I feel like 5 year old in back seat of car with parents. I’m 24 it’s ridiculous

I see my mom every day because we live together. I haven't seen my sperm donor in over 10 years. I haven't seen the man I consider my father in over 2 years. So yeah, twice the daddy issues lmao. Good thing I'm a mama's girl 🤷🏾‍♀️

My mom was a single mom and I worship the ground that she walks on. Even so, a couple of hours spent with her at ages 61 and 80 are more than enough!

Unfortunately I do. I say unfortunately because my relationship with my parents isn't good. I live with my mother so I see her every day and I'm with my father at least twice a week.

Enjoy your time together. Both of my parents have passed away. When they were alive, I tried to spend as much time as I could with them, which wasn't always easy because we lived in different places.
