What scares you the most about being a parent?

Yesterday my wife told me she's pregnant (seems a new trend around here lol), and while I'm happy I'm afraid that I could not be a good father, especially since I haven't had good examples.

What scares me the most? Outliving my children.

As far as good parenting goes; my parents were less than stellar. Admit your mistakes. My dad told me it was his job to be a better parent than his were and my job to be a better parent than he was. I think that's great advice to keep in mind.

losing partner and being a lone parent, or losing a kid, or making mistakes that impact their lives.

do your best, study up on being a parent, hang out with parents. very important job, I see my lady doing great job with the kids.

You don’t need a good example to be a good parent.
Trust your instincts. You’ll learn as you go. Babies only need feeding and changing. This is tiresome, but easy. Once they get older you’ll find yourself much more involved. You’ll do all you can to protect and care for them. You’ll be fine!

Thanks! They say it's st. Catherine's blessing, a lot of newlyweds of our town are getting pregnant or having children this year. I honestly didn't expect it'd be the same for us, despite me encouraging other couples (I've already celebrated one wedding lol) to do have children.
