My mom punched me in the jaw and broke my teeth what should I do?

We had an argument about something and I'll be honest I yelled at her. Out of nowhere she punches me in the jaw and breaks my teeth. I'm self-employed and started my own business during the pandemic. I'm living with her until I save enough money to buy a house. I want to get out of here but I'm trying to become more stable financially. This is the first time she has hit me. I'm a strong believer that you should never hit a woman. I have never hit her. She showed no remorse after I told her she broke my teeth.

Just because you don't hit a woman doesn't mean you can't stop a woman from hitting you. My wife tried to do it once, and I pushed her against a wall and held her arms at her side. She then tried to knee me in the groin, and I picked her up over my shoulder, carried her down the steps to the apartment door, opened it, and tossed her in a snow bank. I told her to cool off, and walked back inside.

At that point, without ever harming her, I let her know that she couldn't hope to hurt me unless she was going to use the element of surprise.

I've honestly never been in that position before with a woman let alone my mother. She never took a swing at me before so it came out of nowhere. I'm trying to have a sense of humor about it but it's messed up. My damn teeth are broke.

Honestly I think you need to report her. Don't listen to anyone trying to tell you that you deserved it for raising your voice at her. I'm willing to bet those pathetic "pro violence" people wouldn't think the same if it were a father punching his daughter in the mouth and knocking her teeth just because she yelled at him.

The worst part was that she told me I deserved it and she showed no emotion. I love her she's the only family I got besides my brother and sister. It's such a weird thing I never expected to happen. I'm so messed up from it that I don't know what to think now.

If you don't report her then I think you need to give her the cold shoulders; don't speak to her. She has to learn punching others just because they scream at you is unacceptable and even has legal charges. Her being your mother doesn't give her any rights to assault you.

I agree and I don't think things will be the same after this. My mind is just scrambled right now. I never thought this would happen. The lack of remorse on her part really hurt me. I love my mom but I guess it's sort of one way. Thanks for giving your opinions and advice I appreciate it.
