How anybody feels, man or woman is not for another to judge. Everyone is different. If a man needs to cry 😢, let him cry without judgment, this goes for woman too. If a person crying bothers someone or makes them feel uncomfortable too bad, the world 🌎 doesn't revolve around that person. You could flip that statement and point out that the same goes for the person crying, but do you really want to be that person. As long as a person's crying is not hurting you, then why the hell does it even matter? Anybody who judges a person who is crying 😢 can walk away, ignore them or go seek some help themselves. Crying 😢 is something practically everyone does. To deny this would be foolish; we're not robots, we all have our own emotions and feelings. There are so many judgments that both men and women place on one another, these things are not that different.
We are not the judge, we don't get to decide what is acceptable for another person to feel 🤔. Crying is a normal part of life. Since when did crying make someone be percieved as weaker and not strong. Newsflash; a man or women who can cry is far stronger than those who judge them for doing so. To face our emotions takes strength. Holding onto your emotions, not crying, does not make a person stronger 💪. People that full heartedly embrace their emotions and feelings have an inner strength that will always be stronger 💪 if not stronger than that which appears on the outside. Those who do not judge someone who cries possess more compassion and empathy. There will always be people who judge. It's difficult to not let their judgment keep you from being true to ourselves.
I'm pretty sure women would rather be with a man who can share their emotions and feelings as opposed to building a wall 🧱 and locking them away deep inside 🤔 🔐.11 Reply

+1 yI believe men should be able to express emotions without being judged. Men are humans just like women, we may not have an intensity with our emotions like the average woman but it still exists. Depression, anxiety, grief and many other emotional states are not reserved to a specific sex. I’ve experienced those things and I learned not to fight it but process why I’m going through it so I can make it out on the other side with my mind and heart in tact. It makes you stronger in your mind while also giving you future tools to help you connect to other people

I like this comment, man. Very insightful. Feelings are not exclusive to gender. The tough part is processing what you went through and adjusting the mindset.

I appreciate it brother
+1 yMen should never be ashamed of their emotions because of some pseudo masochistic belief that real men shouldn't cry. In my opinion, real men embrace those emotions and admit that they do have moments when life is too much to the point where even the strongest man can find catharsis in letting it all out through tears.
22 Reply- +1 y
Then, they should open their minds up a bit. Men should never be ashamed of their emotions. Its toxic culture that lead to that belief.
+1 yI am a firm believer that men should take better care of their physical and mental health. Unfortunately toxic masculinity pushes the belief that doing so is a masculine and a sign of weakness...
46 Reply- +1 y
I will agree with mental health. There is no shame in seeing a therapist or psychiatrist if you truly need them.
You mean isn't masculine, correct? Those that are adamant about not crying in my eyes view it as weakness because crying solves nothing and because their expression of tears backfired and left negative trauma to teach them they cannot do that lest they be judged by those they trust. - +1 y
Toxic masculinity is simply Men trying to appeal to womens expectations of us.
If wearing a pink tutu got positive female attention it would be dress code for the military. Men will risk life and health for a few extra dollars in order to fulfill the roll of providers. They will volunteer for war to avoid the social shame women will place on those who stay home. Crying isn't an option if a man wants to avoid celibacy! - +1 y
@Slartybartfast its unfortunate that you believe such misinformation.
- +1 y
Men are %98 of those killed or dismembered on the job. This is the REALITY.
I work a dangerous job, I work on live electric daily, I'm often high up in the air. The ONE women who worked my job would literally stay on the ground and watch me work (she got paid more !!!) as she wouldn't work up high which is like %90 of the job. - +1 y
P. S. I just looked at your picture, you look just like my cousin I grew up with.

@Slartybartfast I get you are passionate about this man, but let's stay relevant to the question.

+1 yIf the perception of men crying is ever gonna change (if it should change) some men are gonna have to take the initiative and start letting themselves cry in front of other people. —Not at the supermarket or anything though. I don't know when. Just around "people they trust" or in "appropriate settings" or something.
13 Reply- +1 y
I agree, but talking with men that have done that in perceived environments around others they felt they could do that ended poorly and they were either ridiculed or dismissed as being babies.
- +1 y
But if women ever found out he would be alone for life and never reproduce.
Men CAN'T cry and expect to be in a relationship with women. Nothing is more repulsive to them. - +1 y
@ShadezMcgee yeah unfortunately it will probably end poorly most if not all of the time. But it's gotta keep happening for that reaction to change.
@Slartybartfast do you want to be in a relationship with a woman who is repulsed by you? Do you want a woman like that raising your sons to hide their crying at all costs or raising your daughters to be repulsed by boys who cry? But yeah there aren't many alternatives.
I'm not saying it won't be a hard blow, but someone's gotta take the brunt of it no matter when it happens. Nothing becomes accepted just because people decided it's okay now. People have to start practicing it, too.
Why do you think (for example) women going topless still isn't normalized in the west? Even where it's legal, almost no women actually do it. A lot of people judge and/or sexualize it. That will not change with this generation. But doing it anyway is the only way it's ever gonna get normalized.
Same with anything. Same with men crying. I don't judge it, and I try to let it happen for my part. But people don't see me as a man. I can't help from this side right now. I know it can change though; I've seen men in safe spaces. Unfortunately, they were the exceptions. But the more it keeps happening, the more exceptions there will be, and eventually people will have to accept it. Even if that probably won't happen for a long time.
+1 yTrust me, women are absolutely repulsed by any sign of weakness from a man.
Most women with any bit of introspection will agree this is true.
Men don't creat social rules anymore than women created law in 1066. Men just never had the same liberation from ancient rolls like women did in western society. We can't even discuss men's rolls without a backlash against the act of bringing up the subject.11 Reply- +1 y
I would agree with women being repulsed and turned off by it despite them saying otherwise. That's why I say men do it on their own time in private.

u +1 yit is not something I have to believe... it is something I've seen all my life and it's everywhere too...
Obama cried a couple of times, addressing the nation... athletes cry on every final game on every sport and competition out there... celebrities do it in interviews, not just movies... actually, you see a lot of dudes cry while watching movies, and anime too...
hospitals, funerals... a lot of guys get whiny and dramatic when they're drunk on the weekends
"men do not cry" has always been some macho-bullshit I hear in some tv plots... in my real and personal life... I have never seen it as a persistent/systematic idea10 Reply
+1 yI can think of 3 reasons, but they are not unique to men.
1. if you have no one to talk to.
2. if you feel like nobody loves you or at least like you.
3. if you feel alone even though you are among friends or family.
I think anyone who has at least 1 of these will definitely cry, although you might not see it.12 Reply- +1 y
I will agree to that since I have felt like those 3 specifically throughout my life. It does take its toll and can be easy to push someone over the edge.

Ya, it may also make you paranoid

+1 yIt literally doesn't matter at all and is a trivial thing to worry about.
People who worry about what others think about the real them are weak.
You will be judged, on literally every last little thing you ever do, but the key response is supposed to be not giving a shit, because letting others mold you into who they want you to be, is for losers.10 Reply Crying ain’t bad at all. I haven’t cried for when my grandfather died and he was the biggest male influence on my life, but first time I ever cried about my mom was rather recent when I found out she threw up blood. First time being worried about my mom and made me cry otp with my girlfriend
Only time guys gonna be ok with you crying is if y’all lost a tough football game tho for real.10 Reply502 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. It's easy to only cry when loved ones die when you are emotionally closed off but if a woman opens up your heart and then toys with it the urge to cry comes up a lot more.
Stoicism is easy, being emotional is a roller coaster and I don't like it. I'm going to stick this stoicism lol.31 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Things are getting better but yes men still for the most part will be judged so depends on how you do it and with who I guess
21 Reply- +1 y
Agreed. That's why I say men can cry, just do it alone.
+1 yIf we're feeling insecure or uncertain in our ability to stand up to a particular task or responsibility we are told to "man up", "step up to the plate", "take it like a man", "be a man" etc. From the time we first learn to talk, the message we receive from everyone and everywhere is that no one cares how we feel and we need to just shove it down and do whatever the person telling us to "man up" wants (hell, our own mothers say this to us).
Personally, I think it's especially cruel for women to make it clear that they have no interest in how we feel and then complain that we are not more open in expressing our feelings... No, it's not cruel, it's utterly disgusting and heartless.10 ReplyNo because even if I don't say it out loud I will always think he's a faggot in my mind.. can't help it... It jus looks weak so that's the first thing that shoots to my mind
24 Reply- +1 y
Also I don't wanna fucking cry. I'm not emotional. I'm sick of seeing these questions, for god sake... If y'all little bitches wanna cry and get away with it.. accept it already, make men crying a regular thing.. I won't care.. jus do it already get it off your fucking chest so y'all can stop talking about how society is so "judgmental"
Jus don't expect me to cry too cos other men are doing it.. I don't wanna cry.. there's nothing to cry about - +1 y
So crying means a man is a weak faggot to you, correct?
- +1 y
I dunno but its emotionally weak because if you let things emotionally affect you or bother you. That shows a lack of control of feelings are have a weak security system of the heart. I wouldn't even cry if I was captured by a cartel and about to be killed. I jus accept whatever fate comes my way. You can't change your fate. I jus accept whatever happens in life
- +1 y
Like I said everyone has a breaking point, what gets them to that point is different for every person. I disagree that it makes one weak, it makes them human. It's how it is viewed by society that makes it a talking point.
I won't comment further on the rest of your response here since there is no changing your mind and I will make no effort to. Whatever you believe, my guy.
I only cry in public if i have a mood crash (im bipolar ocd hdhd.) Men do cry but society says if a man cry he's weak and pathetic so we dont do it in public or in front of woman and rarely each other in my experience.
20 ReplyI think whatever the case if we see a fellow human crying, we should comfort them for the time being. If they keep crying about the same thing over and over, only while around you, Might affect the friendship. But crying is healthy. Means you still feel
00 ReplyNo everything you will be a judged by others either openly or sublimely that way you either avoid do something in public or live with the consequences of your actions.

+1 yThe belief that men need to hide their emotions is why the male suicide rate is so high. Cause when men ask for help or show vulnerability, we’re told to “man up” and our problems aren’t taken seriously.
I’ve hid my emotions for way too long and it fucked me up for a while. And now I have people in my life who I can vent to and break down in front of if I need to. And I think mental health wise, I’ve made a lot of improvements00 Reply
+1 yMen can cry when they’re around their true male friends, but generally speaking women will judge in a negative way
24 Reply- +1 y
I agree. Just don't make it a habit in front of your boys. Chances are they went rhough similar thoughts and instances and can help you with a push
- +1 y
Yes it’s usually only in times of absolute despair , since we are usually just better at dealing with emotions ourselves.
- +1 y
You must be brave af dude to cry infront of your friends. I will never be brave enough to do that

@brandon545 I only have 2 real buds man.
Everyone else is just an acquaintance. I don’t even have family.
So those two brothers are my crew and I love them like family.
+1 yI personally wouldn't judge, but sadly most other people would

+1 yI think it depends on the people who see them cry. Like different people will judge and not judge differently
11 Reply- +1 y
I would agree with that. That's one reason it should be done alone in my eyes so you don't shape someone else's perception because of it.
Do it only with your family and loved ones. There are hardly any guys who know how to respond to someone who breaks down. (Which unfortunately includes myself)

If I ever cried in front of my mom she would call me a "wimp" I remember when I was 4 I fell hard and got a concussion. My scalp was bleeding and I didn't make a sound. I just got up and walked home. A teenager I knew noticed and said , "you didn't make a sound, I was expecting you to cry". I just shrugged and thought Id rather fall ten times than endure the shame of crying.
1.1K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Ngl i think if its not because of a loved one its weak for a man to cry

Definitely get it. I would add death of a dog/pet and severe pain to that list too.

@Juxtapose it could happen but i pray to be cold hearted lol
@ShadezMcgee yup pets are loved ones to and yes u can't avoid tears from physical pain
+1 yI think everyone should be able to cry without fear of judgement, so men should be able to do so yes

+1 yPeople will always judge it yeah, it's a big part of our ancenstory and evolution.
But the right ones won't, so just associate yourself with the right kinda people and it's fine, cry as much as you need.
Personally, I'm comfortable doing it around others, and with others doing it around me too. I want to support the people I care about, even those I don't know all that well.00 Reply690 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. We will be judged, but we don't have to let that affect us.
