The older I get the less friend I have, why?

This is normal.. I have this issue myself.. usually when you get older people will change especially you.. there are people who are looking for others on their level.. if your level is higher than theirs trust me you will lose these friends.. but in reality I truly think age don’t have nothing to do with this.. because there are older people who have the bestest of friends still hanging out around them.. it usually have something to do with the person within themselves.. something you have within you they don’t have so they change on you and leave you for other friends.. to make themselves feel better about themselves this is towards an ego issue

It's very common.
I see it for several reasons.
When you grow older, most people start to get busier with work life, and maybe possibly family life, or just spending time with their romantic partner.

Also, when you get out of school or college, you don't see those 'friends' everyday having your everyday life in common, and suddenly you realize, A they're not really your friends or B, you find out it suddenly takes much more effort to keep those friendships alive and some of them just fall through your hands like sand.

I would also believe that as you get older you become more selective about who you want to keep in your life.

Losing and gaining friends is a normal part of life & as some people get older they tend to keep to themselves a little more especially nowadays. As for our friends they live their own lives & they grow up & some of them slowly drift away or go in their own directions. As for friends there are friends out there & if you want to meet some new friends you have to get out in the world a little more & give people a chance.

When you get older you are focused on your family and career and don't have as much time for friends. Most people have the same circumstances so friendships suffer. I only have a four friends and I hardly ever see any of them.

People lose touch with their friends they met when they were in university, at previous jobs, or old neighborhoods. Also, as people get older they tend to get more busy. Because of this, they don’t have as much time to a lot to spending time with friends.

Because we are realizing a lot of people we hanged out with were not friends just associates. And associates naturally weed out themselves
