Puppy up all night?

I go to work so the problem is he sleeps all day then he's all energized and ready to go when I get home. 🙄 usually he's fine and goes to bed from 10pm-6am but some nights he's all ready to play at 2am. I thought puppies sleep like 20hrs a day? Not this one.

I'll share the BEST advice I got from a friend;

Get a washcloth, wet it, roll out into a tight roll, and freeze it.

Give it to the puppy at night because he'll chew and chew. It's very soothing on their gums, keeps him busy, and tires him out.

Your puppies entire life has changed coming to your home. Just be consistent. Let them out to potty through the night. And back to bed. They’ll soon understand your routine.

Occassionally he just stays up all night. Not sure why.

The problem is he'll bark for like 10 minutes straight and I'm afraid he's keeping the neighbors up

He’s adjusting. He’s used to the place he was born, and a little of playmates to snuggle with at night (if there were other puppies). Everything has changed for him.

Yup. Barking is normal. Go to him and sooth him (not play) Then go back to bed. Is he in the home at night?

He roams the house during the day and is in the kennel from 10pm-6am and usually he barks in the middle of the night so I let him out for a quick potty break just like you've described. Hopefully he chills out tonight because I didn't get shit for sleep last night.

Three weeks is average to acclimate. Usually less.

Well he's been here for like 3 months now. He knows my routine he just likes to be a little shit at times.

Are you playing with him? Try to ignore that. Potty only and then bed. Be consistent. Might be harder to stop then.

What's he supposed to do other than sleep when you're not there? If you want him to stay awake then you need another puppy for him to play with.

He misses you and when you get home that energizes him or her. Anyway it’ll get better later on down the road don’t give him away keep the dog

He's only 6 months old.

He gets into everything. He can't even sleep in my bed because he's so routy.
