Worried about my mom?

Is there any advice anyone can share with me please and thank you. So my mom and I don’t live together but I’ve noticed that when she posts selfies on Facebook she looks sad/older/depressed in her pictures more and more. This man she is living with (I’m not a fan of him and vice versa) I believe is taking a toll on her for whatever reason. When she was with my step-father (who was no saint either lol) she seemed my mom seemed more lively and put together and looked happier. She had heart surgery a year ago which also took a toll on her but I assumed she was getting better, but it seems as if she is wasting away…when I talked to her on the phone a few weeks ago her boyfriend was yelling at her in the background to “hang up the fucking phone” I feel bad because I wish I was closer to help my mom but it seems as if she puts this guy first and deep down I know she is miserable she just puts up a front like things are peachy, but I sense things are not going well at all even if I’m hours away.

I would be worried too.
If you can, try to find a week to stay at her place so you can observe how she spends her days and the overall environment. Preferably on short-notice, make up an excuse for why if you have to. I say short-notice to make it easier to get a real view into her life, so you can search for clues of a disturbed mind. These can be things such as unusual messiness, less food than usual/needed, and warning signs that are specific to your mother (say she likes to paint and usually does that on a regular basis, but you find few to none or one that is coincidentally JUST started).
If you suspect the man is abusive, look for signs of that too, her avoiding eye contact with him, using short sentences, automatically saying yes when asked something when he's barely finished asking, change in posture and expressions when he's around vs absent. You can find more of these online.
I hope your mother is okay, and hopefully the man is not unsafe for her.
