Calling your parents by their first names does it establish independence from their own roles and parents?

I call my mom by her first time but I do call her mom as well. But when I was little I would occasionally call my mother by her first name. And don't worry me and my mother both have a wonderful relationship, I just view my mom both as a parent and friend

If my parents were still alive I still would not call them by their given names. It shows lack of respect.
