Well at 46 I highly doubt he’d forcing you to go with him. Also I’m guessing he’s at least in his late 60s. So good luck changing his belief system. Also if his belief system is harming you directly then you really have no right to tell him one way or another.
There is this widespread disgusting atheist myth that all Christian churches that don’t hang rainbow flags are viciously homophobic. There are tiny radical sects like the Westboro church (which has less than 150 members?) that got mass media attention for years on end. But most churches don’t “hate” gay people. They aren’t a real church if they “hate” anybody. Jesus never hated anyone except for the Pharisees.
With that said the Bible has things to say about homosexual behavior in both the old and New Testament. Modern times and progressive culture shifts don’t magically rewrite scripture.
Now I don’t say that to be condescending. I’m not gay but I definitely stand convicted on other sins. From a Christian point of view we are all Gods children. So I do not hate my gay and lesbian brothers and sisters. But scripture says what scripture says. If any one tells you otherwise that’s false doctrine. And the Bible talks about dire consequences for people who mislead others with that.
Just live your own life
If you have an alright relationship with your dad, and you think he can handle such a conversation maturely, then it's worth letting him know.
But if he's a raging homophobe himself, just accept that your dad's twilight years are going to be him falling deeper and deeper into religious extremism.
Once they're old enough, and if they're hateful, there's just not a lot of changing old people. Hopefully your dad isn't one of these.
I hope you can have a good conversation with him. It might be helpful to find alternative, non-hateful churches around him that he can go to as an alternative.
I don't hate church, and my parents are "christians" but not balls deep.
So in a way, what's the worse to happen if you tell him this church ain't the one? He gonna punch you in public? Yell that you're wrong? Very unlikely, as there are many churches that aren't balls deep to be an absolute christian.

Read the Bible FFS!
In both the Old and New Testaments homosexuality is described a “detestable” and is listed as a Hell-worthy sin.
In Leviticus 20:13 Jews are commanded to kill those who engage in homosexual acts.
When an Orthodox Jew fails to kill a homosexual on sight he/she has failed to obey the law of the Torah.
In the New Testament, see 1 Corinthians 6:9.
All Christian churches must oppose homosexuality.
All Christians must oppose and condemn homosexuality.
Holy scripture commands it.
Your father and the church he attends are following the will of God, as expressed in the Bible.
I do not know how old your dad is, but as people get older they start to look for places and people that they get a sense of belonging, entertainment and/or companionship out of. So if he is happy what's wrong with just letting him be happy, and leave him be. Let him have the peace of mind that he is doing something productive... I mean if he quits this church then what? Where else is he going to go and do? Are you going to step up on Sundays and spend more time with for your dad? I mean the guys got to get out some how and be with people, so just be happy for him that he has a safe place to go and do things with people. Why do feel you need to burst his bubble or take him down a peg? Do not make it about you or your own political stances, and think about what's best for him.
Just let him have what he has, because at the end of the day is he really hurting anyone?
What's in it for you? Are you gay? Have a lot of gay friends? Do you think your dad hates gay people?
Unless you have a dog in the race, does it matter what church your dad attends? Unless you haven't come out to him... Though at 46, seems a little late...
Then you will have an issue...
I wouldn't tell him you hate his church, or that it's homophobic (he probably knows that). If I were you, I might ask him if he really likes his new church, and mention that you hope he doesn't mind if you don't join him there. In other words, be subtle, not blunt, about your opinion of his new church.
Major land mine! But religion is a very personal choice. By all means do not attend if you are uncomfortable. If asked respectfully discuss why but I would not attack your fathers choice. Thats going to blow up for sure...
you could tell all the offspring produced by male-to-male sodomy that you'll go together with them to confront this organization about their views, but it's likely to be a lonely trek over to meet with them.
Most of the Churches I go to view gay people as victims of society and personal desire and not as discardable trailer trash. Only worthless Christians make fun of gay people - decent ones say - I won’t join you but I’ll say hi to you.
Are you sure you are 46?
Also, I'm sure your father is not going to hear you out. He most likely won't change because it is homophobic. Is he homophobic? Have you come out to your parents yet?
you are an adult, you don't have to go. If you went with him and you heard something you objected to, you could say "I didn't like the way the pastor/minister/whatever spoke about..."
Homophobia is good, embrace it... It's no different than being against beastiality, or pedophilia... Or incest... Or any other immoral/ wrong sex acts.. men and men together is un-natural and just wrong.
un natural acts against nature is jus wrong
I think it could be healthy to discuss your concerns with your dad, but keep in mind that you can't choose his place of worship for him.
What do you mean? Christianity is homophobic. If you’re pro-LGBT you’re not a real Christian, you’re picking and choosing the things you like while ignoring the things you don’t.
ask him questions rather than tell him what is and is't. it's about what he favors not you.
ANTILLES PINKT-I mean yes there is no harm in sharing that opinion, I feel?
I left religion at 12 years old. Blows my mind how adults can't use their own minds, and are told how to live their life, by man created gods. Oh you sheep. Live free from the herd.
Do you think he's really going to change just because you don't like it?
If someone told you they didn't like what you were doing would you change for them?
Not likely
🤣🤷🏽♀️💀 I hated it as a child because I literally had no clue what they were talking about. I only went for the socialization
Well, do you want to be beheaded or dragged into it and being taught how wrong you are and how right they are for an hour or 2?
I suggest to stay low and stay out and do your thing.
Unless you’re worried for his well being I’d keep it to myself
No, but you can tell him you no longer want to go. He can't "force" you to do it, unless he puts a gun to your head
How sure are you he isn’t homophobic? Religion creates a bigger rift than it should and sometimes it’s best to let it go. Coming from an atheist.
It's his decision what church he goes to. Just like it's your decision who you have sex with.
You’re an adult, dude. If you don’t like that church go to another one
I thought all churches were.
You should def tell him
You would prefer a church where no one sins?
No. You just don't have to go.
Pretty sure your dad is aware.
Is he forcing it on you?
Some of us don’t give two shits about homophobia.
