How to get along with my sisters better?

I have two older sisters but I don't really get along with them that good. I'm trying to be good friends with them but they just ignore me when I help them or make fun of me for no reason :( I don't know what to do

What are they making fun of you for? How much older are they? I have a younger sister (18) who I just adore. We are like best friends, which is the way it should be. We have always gotten along.

Perhaps I can help you if I understand better what they are doing to make fun of you. Sisters should be there to support, not hurt.

Well one's 17 and the other is 19, so they're both way older than me. Sometimes they make fun of me because of the way that I talk with a lisp and how I pronounce words :(

@littlemisssparkles Aww, that is nothing to be ashamed about. Are there any programs at school to help with speech? They should really be helping. When they tease, ask if they would help you. That might throw them off guard.

Other than that, you can just find things you all have in common and ask them to do stuff with you. I'm really disappointed and sad to hear they treat you like that. I am sure you are just lovely.

I honestly felt like crying when I read that. What is something you all do enjoy together?

Thanks you're so kind ❤ I've always been embarrassed about it, especially talking in front of other people and especially public speaking :( There was a speech therapist last year but he retired and they haven't found a replacement

I don't know if they would help me but I could try that. I'll try asking what their hobbies are and stuff like that too. At least we like to watch movies together, that's always fun :)

@littlemisssparkles Well, I'm sure they will find another speech therapist in time. I wonder if there are online tools for that which you could practice on your own? Have you googled and searched for that? Just a suggestion.

Set up a movie night! Pick something you know they like and suggest it. Any time that you all enjoy together will bring you closer. Also, ask for help when you need it with school. Don't go and ask constantly but just little things.

They will feel appreciated that you look up to them. That might just get them to understand that you care about them and they should too.

Yeah I used to practice in front of a mirror and try pronouncing r and z sounds since I have an interdental lisp, but I one of my sisters caught me one day and just laughed at me :( I got so discouraged and a bit depressed and I cried a lot :(

I've thought about asking them what their favorite movie is and seeing if maybe we could watch it together too. :) Hopefully they can help me with my lisp too eventually. I wish I didn't have speech problems :( It would be so much easier to make friends

Do you think that maybe they are just teasing you? I tease my brother sometimes but he knows I don't mean it. He's 14 and I would never do or say anything intentionally that would hurt him. Do your sisters go so far as to make you cry? That I think would be going to far with the teasing. You need to give more context on what they actually do for me to give you a honest opinion.

There's not much you can do, that's what older siblings do to younger siblings. It's pretty normal
