Has anyone said anything that hurt your feelings indirectly?

Once my 6 year old cousin wanted to play in his bedroom so I went with him. He locked the door and a little while later I finally convinced him to go back out. We went out and my uncle immediately asked him “are you okay.”.

I don’t know what to think of it but it definitely made me feel weird that he asked my cousin that.

So has anything like this happened to you?
