What do you do in a situation when your family clearly don’t like a hobby you are passionate for, for no apparent reason?

If you’ve come across my posts before you probably know I’ve been doing competitive bodybuilding a long while now. Now I know everyone doesn’t have to like a hobby you do, but what do you do when your family clearly says negative things about it (appearance wise) not health?

For instance I took a profile pic, my dad said it looks pretty, took a closer look and said I didn’t notice how big your arms and shoulders looks, and told me he doesn’t want it keep the picture because it’s ugly.

How do you personally deal with comments like this if you’re with them often and the lack of support? It’s not disapproval from their part more indifference and it being ‘ugly and unfeminine’

It happens pretty often for me like ‘don’t get too big’ but friends aren’t like that. Only family

Id tell them to find their own hobbies and interests, and mind their own business.

What if they already have their own hobbies that are completely different? Also want to avoid arguing too but it’s a big part of my life..

I don't have to deal with that, because my parents aren't unsensitive assholes, but are instead supportive of me. I would instantly call them out on it, because that's just a really shitty thing to say and I would make them apologize.
