How did you get disciplined as a child?

My mom used to watch a lot of 'supernanny' and used her tactics lol. It really did work though. Beinf firm, but kind. If I was annoying at dinner, I had to go to the doormat and sit there untill I thought I could come back. I always first had to apologize to my mom though and if I wasn't ready for that yet, she would be like "That's fine, but then you stay here untill you are ready to apologize to me." She always told me what I did wrong and why it was so wrong, because she wanted me to think for myself. She did not want me to be scared of the punishment, causing me to learn, she wanted me to think for myself and understand why it was wrong what I did.

Depends on what I did. When I was younger and threw tantrums, my mom and dad used to send me to the “naughty corner” where naughty kids go. I had to stand there, still, and not do anything for about two hours. My legs would ache. I never got into much trouble anyway, and it’s not like my parents were around a lot.

Now? It’s either belt or kitchen tools, and sometimes even my mom’s flying sandals. Not to mention, even T. V remote sometimes.

If I don’t defend myself, I’ll be lucky enough to get away with three or four T. V remote beatings

Depends on the situation but most of my discipline came in the form of severe beatings from my mother, some of which got me sent to the hospital because "I fell down some stairs"..

I don't think I ever got disciplined. They just told me to turn down the music or something like that.
