Yes you should avoid them

Just be civil if you see them but don’t make an effort to be friendly or engage too much

Carry on being friends with them and suppress your feelings somehow

I think it depends on the person. Like some people can get that outcome and still be ok hanging around that person afterwards. Others do better with some distance, for that “out of sight out of mind” approach, then either go back around that friend group eventually or not at all.

As long as your not acting on those feelings I say the people should stay friends because I've been in this situation before I had a crush on one of my best friends but he has a girlfriend and I just managed to get rid of the crush on my own still not sure how I did it but my point is stay friends even if the person is unavailable or doesn't like you in that way

You might as well just confess your feelings. I used to be afraid to do this and I let a potential relationship slip through my fingers. I decided not to do that anymore and I did get shot down a couple of times but now I have no regrets about it.
