I was a single Mom after I gave birth to my son. I was married, and he was planned, but his father abandoned us when my son was 6 months old. By the way, he has learning disabilities. He was in special needs classes all though school. I didn't get child support either. But somehow we made it. He is 44 now and I have always loved him since the first time I laid my eyes on him. Yes, I had to work full time, and I didn't make very much money being a secretary.
One day when my son was 8 years old, a lady I worked with asked me if I ever thought about putting him in one of "those special homes" and to be honest, I never gave it a single thought. He didn't ask to be born!
I always gave of myself for him to be the best person he could be in life. I taught him important life lessons, and he still remembers being taught those lessons. That's what I pushed for, to make him as independent as possible.
We didn't have much money, but I shopped for our clothes whenever there was a great sale. I only bought enough food for us a week at a time. I stopped going to the mall, because I knew I couldn't afford it.
You say these things now, about your lives, but you must always strive to be the best each of you can be.
Remember, God only loans us His children.
Please remember she didn't ask to be born, so treat her right. Always do right for her and it will make the resentment go away.
