What are the main things you wish your parent or parents did or would do differently?

Just wondering because of father's day. He definitely should've done better and could do better. That being said, I still got him lunch, but my sister refuses to see him.

I wish they were more emotionally open with me. They were open with everything intellectual and were very kind and pleasant, but I never heard "I love you" growing up. I think my mom said it once in protest when I mentioned it, but never just a spur of the moment.

Then again, they were physically affectionate. Maybe they just aren't that good with words...

My parents did a good job raising us. We didn't always get what we wanted but we got what they could afford. I didn't come from rich parents and they did without so we can have things we needed. I wouldn't want them to change anything the way they raised us. I wish they were still here
