For children or future children would you parent like your parent doneto you when you were a child or you would have a different parenting style?

I was raised up in a pretty brutal household growing up, my parents were super strict that literally put a whole bunch of rules to me and my two sisters failure in not following every single rule results in getting either beaten up or grounded. I also couldn't forget taking some privileges away, oh and I wasn't allowed to do anything growing up, I didn't even had a voice.

Trust me if I have my own kids I definitely raise them much differently, the only thing I definitely approve of were no smoking, drinking, having underage sex, and getting good grades in schools, I also might implement grounding for serious offenses. Besides any of those my kids would have a much better childhood than the one I had to face. So what about you guys will you implement your parents style on to your children or will you parent your children differently from your's parents.

I wouldn't hit my son across the face with a belt
I wouldn't kick him in the stomach for having a panic attack on the floor
I wouldn't abandon him at 11 in the rain at a liquor store and drive away
I wouldn't expose my daughter to sexual deviancy at 9 years old
I wouldn't encourage grown adults fondling my daughter's private parts
I wouldn't let my 14 year old daughter hand out with rapists who raped her eventually
I wouldn't give my son's room to a complete stranger's son
I wouldn't give that stranger's son my kid's bed
I wouldn't tell my son to then sleep on the floor with nothing but rug
I wouldn't go out clubbing while leaving my wife do homework with the kids
I'd actually give my kids hugs
I'd actually tell my kids I loved them
I'd actually be involved in my kid's school activities and friends groups
I'd encourage my kids to take up productive hobbies like sports and music

My mother had lesbians touch my sister's privates. She was a closet lesbian at the time. My sister is now just like her, lesbian. And apparently she only wanted a daughter to begin with. Likely to warp her into something like her. However my sister might have turned out like that but she was never a heartless bitch at least. My sister and I are not on speaking terms and our mother played a role in that. I'll never stop loving my sister even if she thinks I don't care.

It's is alright, I am sorry for you and your sister horrible experience. I remember seeing the police a bunch of times growing up because my mom and dad constantly gotten into fights. I love my parents but their marriage were extremely toxic, I kinda scared I not only would have a relationship like that but I more terrified of being a dad. I don't want to put others in a terrible situation like I was.

yep this is the thing about parents. They need to actually THINK before they act when they have children. Too many of them air the dirty laundry in front of you, impressionable brains and ruin those kids. Don't give up on love man. There are women out there that went through the same shit as us. Many of them can relate. And then there are ones who did not but will be there to heal us because they are caring. We have bad women out there but plenty of good ones too. Believe in yourself and have faith!

Thanks man, I sometimes don't understand why people who claims to love you be the one who makes your life really hard or depressing. I still love my parents and sisters but I definitely wouldn't want to create a family like this on my own.

i'm so tired of the toxicity in this world. We need more nice people to spread that mentality of doing acts of kindness. You dont have to donate loads of cash to charities. You can simply cheer someone up. One of my favorite things about customer service was turning the assholes that came into the store into sweet people that went from bitter and miserable to happy. And I did that so much. the amount of misery in society is just so sad. I worked for ACME for almost 8 years and everyone in that community knew me. I walked 4 miles a day to work and back. People would pick me up and drive me home. People would slip tips in my pockets or come up and hug me or introduce me to friends and family. Thats the kind of life you want to lead, not the all for myself mentality. That's why people don't get me. I can't be bought, not for any price. You couldnt get me to sell out for millions of dollars. I have insecurities about self image all the time but i can pride myself on knowing i made a change in the world.
