Because of that, most of us think that we shouldn't do that to our future children so they won't feel the way we feel.

You know what this is a very good question and I'm glad that you're smart enough to even ask it I want you to know about it first of all it doesn't matter if your Gen X it doesn't matter what generation you come from if your parents cannot support you and everything that you do then they are tearing you down they're not hearing you they're not telling you they're not allowing you when I was growing up I didn't like anything about the way I was treated first of all I have is a stepson then I was the step brother and then I was too Black Sheep and then I had to put up with being beat by a belt every time I get something wrong so I swear to God I would never treat my kids that way ever I never had to yell at my kids I never had to spank my kids hit my kids raised my voice to my kids because I knew a different and better way and that's called being a parent that's called communicating it's called respect and it's called love what's the first thing that happens when you do something wrong your parents yell and scream at you and then talk to you yelling screaming at you for half an hour like that what does that teach you that teaches you when you want something in life how do you get it you yell and you scream bulshit parents don't understand you don't yell and scream when you're trying to cheat somebody you show patience because that's what your kid will learn its patients
Doubtful. Generation Z is by and large even lazier than Generation Y, and lazy parenting is one of GenY's biggest failures so far (and the polar opposite: extremely paranoid, overarching parenting is also present and just as damaging). In fact, I have yet to see any evidence that trends with zoomers are anything but continuations of millennial trends. The (mainly right-wing argument) that Gen Z is going to "turn things around and swing the pendulum back the other way" is optimistic and far-fetched at best. It's more likely that years down the road, zoomers are going to be seen as "Millennials 2.0"
Actually, I think a huge chunk of Gen Z won't ever become parents at all. Not even for adoption.
I mean people complain that we are “sensitive” and crap but honestly I think that’s what will make us great parents. Us growing up and having to deal with past generations issues like climate change has led us to become more mature mentally because it was practically required of us to. Being the “sensitive” generation we are, I believe we would be much more understanding of our children and their lives, but I believe we would still hold them accountable like previous generations do with maybe more constructive punishments instead of things like being grounded, which in itself is a complete waste of time. Now whether our generation wishes to have children is a completely different topic. I have spoken to many friends who say they won’t have children for various reasons, for example one friend said she felt like she would adopt because she’s gay. She said something along the lines of, “Well if straight people don’t/ can’t keep their baby, then I would. No child should live in our crappy adoption system.” I completely agree but it’s really up to the individual person.
@dray995 yes because climate change was accelerated by which Generation now? Mhm yeah I don’t recall it being the children of gen Z.
Some will be good and some will be bad just like most of our parents who are mostly Gen Y (b. 1965-1980) have some amazing parents and some shitty ones. There will always be individual differences amongst people.
Mentally sick and mentally retarded people will always exist and those are the people who make shitty and abusive parents so they will exist in every generational cohort. There is obviously a lot of learned experience and technology has advanced so so rapidly in the last 30 years that it has made things easier so Gen Z can take advantage of many things that perhaps boomers couldn’t in their time when they became parents. Our parents had a lot of support available in terms of internet and resources to help them with us. There are new ways of entertaining children too. If we take advantage of things that are available to us then the sane ones amongst us can raise some amazing tiny tots. Our kids will mostly belong to the Gen Beta which will come after Gen Alpha who are currently being born. Gen Beta birth years will start from 2025. Until

I think that´s pretty naive because when you and I will be parents there will be other problems and society will have changed. Secondly not all parents are the same I for example have over-protective parents that are around nearly everywhere and do their best to help me.
I don´t think that we´re going to be better parents maybe we´re going to be even worse. Because especially our younger generations seems to be social-media and mobile phone addicted. Going out without your phone, is for many young people not possible. Even going to the bathroom without your phone is weird to some. How do you think those people will act when they parents? Majurity and the ability to be good with responsibility is something you´ll by doing not by watching.
I´m slightly older than you but I doubt that the youth of today will be guaranteed better parents than those who are parents now.
I have no faith in Gen Z until I see movements in the “serving others” direction rather than the “this hurts my feelings” direction. -when you’re a parent your feelings don’t matter. Being offended doesn’t matter. How people think of you doesn’t matter. All that matters is that your kid is safe, learning how the world actually works, and is provided for. Your feelings and your dreams -goals take a back seat.. I have not seen this trait in any Gen Zers.. and feeling “understood” doesn’t matter if you have nothing to offer the world.
I am mixed on this.
On one hand zoomers tend to be more immune to leftist bullshit, less about feelings, and basically they're not pussies like millennials are.
On the other hand I see a trend of people being more and more degenerate. Just because zoomers are able to recognize degeneracy more doesn't necessarily mean that they're less degenerate, as they often have a "don't give a fuck what other people think" mentality... which is why they have the things I initially mentioned, so it's a blessing and a curse.
I think that the relationship between men and women are heading downwards so you will see an increased spike of single parents, lack of marriages, and overall the children will suffer. It is too soon to really know but unless zoomers really embrace traditional values you will likely get shitty parents.
Probably not any better than previous gens. Why? A few things. But in brief: nothing much has truly changed and that's the poorer for it society it is. So i dont have exaggerated hopes. I just feel they'll do average or even below average. Distracted. Short attentions. Probably not very positive.
Hell No. They can not even take care of themselves let alone someone else. Most Gen X I know are in their 20's and still living off of mommy and daddy because of some PTSD or OCD bullshit that they were talked into by some therapist. 70% of Gen XC I know are on some kind of med and most do not even have a job, because it is too much stress. Glad my time on is on the back end, This world is going to be in trouble once these people are the majority.
I agree PolishKinght. Almost 30 and still living at home, no car, limited savings. Insecure work dries up. But i manage to get by, thankfully. But am i wanting a relationship? Nope. Marriage? God no. And children of my own? Never ever. So to all three: yes, i am just managing looking after myself, let alone a girlfriend/Wife and offspring. To all of the above and parenting, no thanks. I'm doing fine enough just looking after me, god bless 😇😇
@PolishKnight i was talking about my own situation as i am almost 30 myself. I'm always mindful i may end up in a hostel or homeless for a time in coming years, but hopefully it never gets that way for me but i'd tough it out if i had to if i was kicked out of home in coming years. I am 27 1/2 now :)
Gen X are the parents of Gen Z born between 1965-1980 which would make them between 40-56 today. How can they be in their 20s as you claim? Even you yourself are a Boomer which means your children are likely millenials (b.1981-1996)
Anyone in their twenties today is either a Gen Z (20-24 - if they just turned 24 in 2021) or a Millenial (24-29 - if they’re turning 25 sometime this year)
I think that the generation being raised by millennials are going to be better than any previous generations. Racism and homophobia will be a thing of the past once and for all. A lot of acceptance in those generations. Will they be good parents? Time will tell. The Gen Z’s that I know are fuck ups but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good adults/parents. We were all young and dumb once.
Nope most Gen Z’s aren’t going to be great parent they’re gonna be terrible…Just not me i’m gonna be an amazing mom… and i’m not gonna trust my kids with other Gen Z’s.
Ehh I feel like that’s the expectation until they become a parent and there’s way more stress & emotions involved they can and will make the same mistakes too. But I do think we are more aware of emotional side of others and will be more understanding to our kids lol.
As you grow in life you would be more be in sync with current state of the present rest thing you will forget as you grow
Jesus fuck, consider yourselves lucky you're viewed as a person. Not only is the idea that your mental health matters a new one, but up until the past decade or two children were nothing more than the property of their parents. Add to that how common both sexual and physical abuse have been, just going unreported because- again- children didn't matter.
I'm sorry Gen X and Mils aren't your besties, but you have no fucking idea how far things have come.
No but I hope I will be pleasantly surprised.
many seem to have absolutely terrible ideas on how to develop emotional resiliency so I fear they will make their kids even worse off then they are.
Unfortunately, due to the unusually low testosterone levels and sperm counts of Gen Z men (look it up), as well as massive gender confusion within Gen Z, the prospects for even becoming a parent in the first place are slimmer than ever.
@Sarahr123 It’s not all that have low sperm count, but the average sperm count is low. Poor diet, lack of exposure to sunlight, processed foods (high in soy and other substances that can reduce testosterone), lack of exercise, and even porn addiction have been cited as potential causes.
Of course not. All parents try to solve their generations problems. Like being able to employed, having strict rules because they have seen some shits. However, it doesn't necessarily mean their problems will be same and what you do cause what you live may not be what they need
They will be as all other generations before them; some good and some bad based upon the times. I'm not sure why they aren't just being called Boomers 2.0 though. They have many of the same qualities with increased activism and their desire to protest things important to them.
That would depend upon how those Gen Z have been brought up and whether they have been involved in the raising of younger siblings.
As for their parents tend not to understand their feelings that is common to each generation.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 omfg best joke I've ever seen here holy shit that was... oh you're serious
No they already fucking up society how they gonna raise a child all I can say is swallow it
Our generation is going to raise a bunch of bitches. Millions of people are depressed get over it you still have shit to do.
My kids are that age and they will be great parents because their kids will have great grandparents.
Gen Z will barely be parents at all, and when they are they will be the worst parents yet.
most of gen z won't be parents. or be parents the traditional way.
Nope, I am a last batch millenial and it is obvious gen z is too sensitive to ever raise a Child that can handle the real world.
In some ways. I think that Gen Z will be really accepting and kind to their kids, they just need to mature and toughen up a bit.
Nah social media being so normal has fucked everything up.
I keep that in mind too.
But both us gen z and our kids are basically doomed
No. Studies show more often "same teaches same", nothing is learned for the next gen.
That's not a new experience. Every new generation thinks they are unique. Mine did too.
Guess who you learn the art of parenting from? Yep, your parents. Pretty scary, huh?
@Sarahr123 Of course consciously you try to learn from their mistakes. Subconsciously you will likely repeat them.
I understand that happens but that’s why it is important to prepare and completely exorcise our demonds before having children so that they don’t end up damaged from their ancestor’s mistakes. Mental, emotional and financial wellbeing/stability is important before planning a family.
@Sarahr123 Very true! And this of course is why I never had kids.
Good description and good points. Not exactly gen Z here but I'm seeing how tables are turning for generations
I'm Gen Z and thank fuck we are the last generation is all I can say
ha no humanity is so f
Fuck. No.
no
No idea.
I know I will (1998)
@Sarahr123 nice
