Why do I feel sad and lonely whenever im around certain family members?

● But maltreatment may be the reason: past or present, subtle or normalized.
● Or perhaps, certain attributes (dynamics with others… or individual behaviors, features, attitudes, etc.) may induce involuntary reminder of unpleasant things in your life from another time and/or place.
● Or perhaps, they lack know-how on interacting with you in a more mutually-beneficial manner.

It could be a defense-mechanism in you (pre-emptive separation, just in case), something in them (guilt, veiled hostility, nervousness, too much attention on something else & consequent insufficient for you, awkwardness, etc.), or a combination.
