What is your relationship like with your parents?

I had traditional parents. My father was and is still very emotionally cold (old mentality), he worked all his life to provide for us and pulled us from lower middle class to the elite. He invested everything he had into our home and education. I remember when I got my first job, and with my first salary I got him a smart phone. It was 2015 when he was still using a decade old feature phone. I asked him didn't he miss using a smart phone and surfing the net for so long. I will forever remember what he said, "I held the bowstrings back so that you could propel forward." He was a strict disciplinarian. I didn't understand him then but now I understand and love him for it.

My mother is the person that I am closest to. She's a traditional homemaker. Everyday I went to school on a full stomach. I had good lunch, when my father came home from work, all our family ate good food in dinner. And by good food I dont mean gourmet. We had chicken once a week on Sunday, and mutton once a month and on holidays. She is very loving and involved in our life. I remember one time I fell from my bike and broke my arm. I was crying really hard, my mother was hysterical, she called my father who came home. He took a look at me and said dont car men dont cry and took me to the hospital for an X-ray and cast. My mom was proud that I was so brave.
I have a good relation with both of them. My father taught me what it means to be a man and my mother taught me that there is care and love in the world.

My dad passed away, my mom is a friendly person, but a constant complainer.
She isn't happy unless she's being negative. Like, as, soon as I see her she's gonna say "When is it gonna stop raining, we don't need anymore fucking rain!" Then the next day " It's so fucking dry and windy out today! "
Then she always has to tell me who died, or tell me about anything negative going on.
She can't be happy for long no matter what.
Even when I was a kid she was always telling me that I can't succeed or do anything. Eveyrthing's gonna go wrong and I shouldn't even try, lol.
She's still like that and I just make fun of her.

My relation with my parents is really good and healthy. I love my dad more however. But I am starting to understand mom more nowadays too and we are becoming more close.

In terms of whom I adore more and love more, it is my dad but I can't deny the fact that my mom is closest to me. She knows me the most out of anyone and is really supportive too. She supports me a lot in my writing passion. There isn't a poem she haven't heard which is written by me.

Could definitely be better. Wish they would have hugged me and told me they loved me as a child growing up. And I wish they didn't shame me and overreact for the things I did wrong. I wish I could talk to them about my feelings.

Great with my dad, a train wreck with my mom. But I manage to keep it neutral with her. My dad has always been there for me while my mom was pretty much opposite. Hence why things are the way they are :)

We have a great relationship. Several times a year I either fly or drive down and stay with them for days
