I read in the news today about a woman who wanted a medically assisted suicide because the disability payments from the government were not enough and she only had five months of savings after CoVid made her incapable of professional work and I thought, if I knew where to find her, she would not need to kill herself cause I could gather 8 or 9 friends to each give her $20 a week and I could convince my church buddies to drop groceries off at her house and give her a place to live, and we could take turns cleaning her home each month. It’s sad she doesn’t know where to find people like that, when I had problems, my church friends hunted me down and would not take no for an answer when I did not want their help.

When you are at your bottom, it's hard to look anywhere but down because of how far you've descended.

It's easy to foreshadow your own life onto another without knowing where they are coming from to feel that way. Inflection of emotions makes it truly difficult to know someones true state of mind.

But life after covid, especially life mentally and physically affected sucks, it's grim, and the government and society are only able to do so much. The fact that she is getting something is better than nothing, sometimes you have to look at your life and say, this is where i am, this is where i was, i have to make changes to now live where i am now. And many people can't, they don't see living life any other way than the way its been the last 20, 30, 40+ years.

Sometimes it takes losing everything before you can pick yourself up and try again.

Remember the saying, give a man a fish he eats for a day, give him a rod he'll fish for life. Sometimes it's not about giving them more, it's about showing them what they have to do to get through life as it is now.

Its sad, but the harsh reality of it is there are thousands of others just like her, and if we gave without thinking we could end up in another crisis all together.

My wife does home health visits and has a lot of elderly patients. Many are living on Social Security. She sees stuff like this every day. Many people are just thrown away by their families. They die alone and nobody cares. It is sad.

I believe it is sad. And as much as I'd want to help all of the elder citizens in the world, I'm really upset that people care about filling their pockets than helping people for a cause or the greater good of people around them. Much to my chagrin, I can't help all of those who really need help. But if I can at least help one or two people, I would see that as an honor that no one can take from me!

I see kindness as rewarding, and no amount of money nor lifestyle, can change my perspective towards the people who need help

Yes it sad but unfortunately thousands of people die every day because no one cares about them.

And no I'm not saying that this woman didn't deserve to be helped, I'm just saying that humans are becoming more and more selfish and greedy.

Life shouldn't be dependent on the generosity of others. Either the government should support them or let them kill themselves. Full stop
