How do you deal with a family member who chose not to tell you that a family member was dying, and having to find out from a coworker?

Basically the story is, my brother in law's mother in law is on hospice.. I had to find out from a coworker who is a friend of his. I'm somewhat upset about that. I won't say anything about it, I won't confront.. Especially when he is hurting. I'm just upset that I had to find out from someone other than family.. And I'm even more upset that my wife, his sister, wasn't told either.

Had similar happen somewhat recently. My dad's brother died and I only found out after another uncle emailed me and mentioned it.

I'm not close to 99% of my family so I don't care

That's the thing, my wife is close to her family than I am.. Very close.. It's part of why I'm a bit upset.

I would be upset if one of my parent passed away… and none of my siblings told me.

Weird does your wife come from money? Only reason I can think of is someone wants to or has changed the will and usually when that happens they just tryna take over everything & keep it to themselves.

Then that defenitley is weird not to say anything about her mother. Maybe they're jealous of what you guys have so they don't consider you guys family due to jealousy.

Honestly not sure but the crazy girl i trained at my last job... her mom told her days late her best friend died and she tried to set me and others on fire.. literally. Like damn dont take it out on us
