Top tip with parenting. It's not a negotiation, you are the parent, and your job is to bring her up right. If you're giving her a choice then she will make a choice. So don't give her the choice.


Your only reason to allow her the diaper is if there's a medical reason.


There will be times where you have to make the right choice for your children, and they aren't always well recieved at the time. It's not a popularity contest, you're doing a job that needs doing right, the end result is a fully functioning well adjusted adult. Once they grow up is when you can work on the freindship side more.

I had two who refused to potty train at first. So I put them in underwear and treated wearing a diaper like a punishment for having an accident. Use their natural tendency to not want to do what you tell them they have to do to your advantage. "You don't get to wear underwear. You have to wear a diaper until you pee in the potty." It doesn't work very well at first, but after a few days they'll convince themselves they'd rather wear big kid underwear
