So I have a 3 year old autistic boy & he's pretty smart in my eyes even tho his autism does make him do repetitive things everyday, he has no problem going outside his routine or doing new things. I worry about him a lot though, I feel I don't know what I'm doing or if I'm going to delay him even more. He spends a lot of time watching movies but I do try to ween him off of it. I feel so bad for making him do things he doesn't want to do like taking his tablet away or or taking away the little things he finds around the house that he can't play with etc. I don't ever wanna be like my parents who took away my personality & made me passive, depressed.. I just don't know what I should be doing as a mom. Any advice on what to do or expect for our kids at this age? Thank you
Special Needs children will probably be served by School Psychologist or Department of Social Services. Autism Society if your State or County name is probably a reliable resource for all ages. It’s probably in your best interest to exhaust both the federal and state Autism Orgs. Their interpretations, requirements, diagnostic guidelines, “benefits”/monies, and function within schools may be different.
