Is it strange to be a jealous friend?

My siblings, I didn’t choose them…they were just given, my friends…they are my second family cuz I pick them. Well I noticed that I’m a very possessive friend. I tend to feel really jealous that my friends make new friends especially when I smell the stink in that new friend from miles away. Anyway, is it strange to be a jealous friend?
