It's gotten to the point where she ignores me unless she wants to brag about her life somehow. And any time I tell her stuff about my life, I get left on read. I don't know how to deal with her anymore and I really just want to end this 18 year friendship. Because any time I think we're okay, or I do her favors, etc, the cycle continues. It's exhausting and I don't want it anymore.

Damn, that sucks. An 18 year friendship going sour over jealousy ain't cool. Couple things you could try:
- Straight up tell her how her behavior makes you feel left out and ignored. Say you value the friendship but the jealousy vibes gotta stop.
- Spend less time talking about your lives and more doing fun stuff together to take the focus off comparing accomplishments.
- Avoid doing her favors if you're not getting the same energy back. Don't let it be one-sided.
- Scale back contact for a bit so she realizes how much she's been excluding you. Space can help sometimes.
If after that she's still only hitting you up to brag or leaving you on read, you might have to end it. 18 years is a long time, but toxic jealousy ain't worth the stress. You don't need fake friends bringing you down. Maybe just tell her how it is then cut her off if she doesn't change her attitude. You do you, don't let anyone sabotage your vibe.
thank you for some actual, well thought out, advice!
