Can a person change from a carefree person to a more controlling person regarding money given that no changes are there in his/her life?

I mean, even if they are making the same as they were ten years ago, inflation makes their money worth less.

It's not surprising to get more tight fisted with time in a Capitalist society. There's no other way to retain your purchasing power so long as wages continue stagnating and inflation pushes ever upward.

Yes and life stressors can bring it out. Like a bread winner that gets insecure in their relationship will likely restrict money flow to keep everything as is. It is a means to manipulating the individual.

Usually people get more stable as they reach prime of their lives, adulthood. But money alone can't bring personality changes.
