My mother was due in late January or early February. Yet her father was going to be out of town when she was supposed to be born. So he gave his wife drugs to induce an early pregnancy. She was born in mid January, so he would be present during her birth. Were his actions ensuring that he could be there when one of his children were born (he was there for the births of her elder siblings) immoral?

Great story, crazy story. Those were different times. Feels immoral today, maybe not back then. Drugs were used differently in the past as well and we have a better understanding of risks now
