My mother was born and raised in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim in the north of Ireland.
Conversely, my father’s family emigrated from the Hebrides and Highlands of Scotland to the Carolinas in the US in the 1700s.

My mother was born and raised in NY, so were her parents. Her grandparents on her father’s side were from Germany and France, her mother’s parents were Irish. I don’t know what county, but I think it might have been Cork.

I don’t really know anything about my dad’s side except that his mom was from Puerto Rico, but her family was originally from Spain. His father was Native American (or so I’ve been told), but I’m not sure what tribe. Parents have been divorced since I was an infant and he’s been out of my life since then so I can’t ask him unfortunately

Yeah, both of them. I was pretty much born more or less a year after they arrived. For both of their direct bloodlines, I'm pretty much the first one in many generations to be born elsewhere lol.

None were. One line came here in the 1840's. The other three were descended from Quaker abolitionists who were, from what I have been able to ascertain, descended from those who were here from before The Revolution, at least through the great grandfathers' paternal lines.

Great great grandmother was German, she married into a black family, which is our dominant ancestry. We also have native American blood in the line too.

All of my grandparents re immigrants. My mothers parents came from Finland and my father's parents came from Italy. All of them came here legally and never took a dime from the government and became citizens.

My ancestors have been in the US for a long time, actually. Before the 1700's, on both sides.

Genetically, I'm German, English, Irish, Dutch, Native American, and French.

No. We've been here for a long time. My mom's side since the founding of the nation.
But my dad's side came over in the late 1800s. So I'm not sure if that counts or not. (I believe it was my great great grandfather.)
