How to deal with someone who's always on their phone?

My dad is addicted to his phone. I only see him on the weekend when I go home. He's literally always on his phone. Whenever I try to talk to him, he ignores me completely. I haven't had a conversation with him for years even though I see him every week. My mom is considering divorce for the same reason. We tried talking to him about it, but he doesn't care. The ironic thing, is when I travel, he forces me to facetime him every day otherwise he gets mad. But when I'm literally next to him, he ignores me. What would you do if you were in my position?

You read about Cell Phone Addiction, you find him there, and you involve yourself in any other thing that he sees as an extension of Self. The phone is attached like a penis. Other fun or work that he identifies with Self need to be promoted and you involved in...

Like any addict it will not stop until he hits bottom and often loses everything.

Why not tell him that it bothers you when he is glued to his phone when you are around? I mean I’m typically glued to my phone, but when I’m around people I have respect and I put it away.
