Well I'm from India and its part of the culture here for people to prefer living together as joint families. So it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. If anything it's pretty common for adults to have their parents with them so that they can take care of their parents in old age.

I was raised by my maternal grandparents because my parents passed away when I was little. I'm 27 and still live under my grandparents' roof, or more precisely what was their roof before they also passed away and left the house to me. If any of them were still alive I think they'd be fine with it.
