Why can't we make peace with another girl we fight?

This happened once in 8th grade. I won the fight but was willing to shake hands, move on and create a new friend but she still hates me till this day.

I don't like holding on to anger for too long. Sometimes when guys fight each other, they have a beer and are friends. They turned an enemy into a friend. Why can't we do that with another girl we fight?

I was ready for a truce but she didn't care. It seems that we generally (well not me) tend to hold prolonged grudges after a fight with the other girl.

The irony of your question is you haven’t moved on either and are still thinking about her. Right?

I asked because I find it shocking that she still hates me. I've seen other girls fight too and they never made peace. I don't see that behavior too much among guys.

Ya part of it could be that the fight you and her had didn’t resolve the conflict. She may in fact feel jelly of you or be holding another emotion.
