Someone close to me is suffering from drug addiction what can I do to help?

What are the best options to get this person to sober up?

Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do besides talking to them. They can't be helped until they want help, and the vast majority have to hit rock bottom before they are ready to go to rehab and quit.

Often, you will need to cut them off completely until they are ready to quit, which is hard and harsh, but one of the only ways you have any leverage.

there's not much you can do unless they actively see what's happening and WANT to change - but if they do, just talk with them and offer them support in any way but don't become their therapist (well depending on who they are because people do feel obligated to those close to them and I understand that) - do your own research surrounding this and encourage them to get the help they need - don't stick around too much if it starts harming/affecting you negatively

Sadly, it’s up to them if they truly want to stop. Some people are addicted and don’t want to stop because substances are the only thing that makes them feel better. If they want to stop, then the best thing you can do is just be there for them. They will have moments where they will want to use again and you need to be there for them to try to help them fight those urges

Don't buy them drugs. Don't lend them money for drugs.

In fact, you are probably the reason they are on the stuff.

Unfortunately they have to be at the point they too want help. It’s the only way they will stick with the process. Something that is incredibly hard.
