What is your opinion on push presents (also called a push gift), and are they even necessary? Why or why not?

For those that do not know, a push presents are gifts that women receive from their partner after they have just given birth to a new baby or even while the mother is in labor and delivery. These presents can range from purses, jewelry, or in some cases a new car for the mother. For example Kylie Jenner after giving birth to her first child, Travis Scott gifted her a 1.4 million dollar Ferrari. And in some cases women were gifted Louis Vuitton purses or really expensive jewelry.

When the day comes for me to give birth the only thing my partner needs to give me is food cause I'll be starving. Why, because most doctors advise women not to eat while in labor. And if he wants to get me anything it better be food that's it. Please don't spend a lot of money on me, all that money should go towards the baby. And a milkshake preferably strawberry or chocolate chip cookie dough 😋🤤

The baby is the gift in my opinion so a real gift is pointless.

Also not eating during labor is a myth. Only asshole doctors still follow that rule. And women in labor can turn down anything a dr says including the not eating thing. I was eating during my induction and the nurses said it was great that I brought food

Yes only time it's necessary not to eat is for a c section since it's a surgery.
After birth i always loose my appetite so I just have small snacks till I go home

I don't think it's required but I did do it for my wife with every baby. It was gemstones that matched the month of baby's birth, either a bracelet or earrings.

That's what I'd like to have. Some people get tattoos of their kid's names I'd probably would purchase a charm bracelet and put their gemstone and what time of the day they were born (i. e., if I had a daughter first and she was born in December at night I'd get a moon and the December birthstone)

I do think we should absolutely show our appreciation for women who give birth, though.
