Do you think that giving gifts on Christmas is something very important?

like important that if you dont give gifts for whatever reason, it seems you dont care or you are cheap? I mean even if the gift is something small, unexpensive, but it is a gift at the end since it is the thought that counts.

For my married sister it is a huge deal but foor my brotehr and I not so much but that is because we can't afford to give everyone gifts so we dont give to anyone at all. When I mean anyone I mean our close family of course.

My brother has an unstable job that he only gets paid for the work he does, if there is no work, he does not get paid, he is an independent worker. On the other hand Im at this moment unemployed so even if I have some money on my bank account that for havign the money inthe back I receive some extra money each month, but the money I reacei each month is not so much anyway so I won't be using any of that money to give gifts to my close family not even my sister and my brotehr in law and I dotn care if they think im cheap. I dotn want to spend my savings on gifts for everyone. My brother is a bit of grinch and he at this moment have so little money cause he is a independent worker. My mom receives a pension inhreited from my dad (he passed away 9 years ago) and her money is lets say an considerate amount. But I won't ask my mom to borrow me money to give gifts my relatives on my behalg since it is nto even my money. So my mom will give to her siblings, and nieces and nephews but small simple gifts not lavish or expensive anyway.

My sister works and she earns her money, her husband works as a family jduge and he DOES earn good money., they like to go out and eat out often, they like to travel, in fact for New Years even they are traveling abroad to Orlando. They live in a nice house (not big but nice) but my sister alwyas keep complainign she does nto have money or enough money for certain things. my family is big) my mom is going to buy them with her money as it is her the one who wants to give to her siblings (5 aunts I have) and their respective children, not so many for each sister either anyway (only one sibling does not ahve children). My mom also will give a family gift to my uncle, her brother in alwa and her sister in law and her son (family gift).

Then my sister tells me "I only give gifts to my relatives but only for the women, never to the men relatives I give.

. So I told my sister i wotn be giving gifts on my behalf to anyone, not even her, sorry. But for my sister giving gifts is important and she kinda of question me that even if it is a small gifts it is nice to receive a gift in Christmas for her is important.
