Do you feel as though you were raised to assume it's your fault if others don't like you/don't show interest in you?

Like say other people never start asking you questions about yourself or make more effort to show interest in you even though you've made effort with them, do your parents still find reasons why it was probably because of something YOU did to make them unfriendly. For example, your parents say that it was probably because you weren't friendly in the beginning, so they forgot about you.
