I wish I had gotten it when I was young because rates are based on your age at time of enrollment and do not change over the life of the policy. Plus the money compounds continually and never decreases like other investments.
Some life insurance plans are set up like annuities that you can withdraw at a certain age.
It's really inexpensive for younger people. But I didn't know about life insurance when I was young. I should have gotten one that would be worth a million $ by the time I reached retirement age.

I mostly agree. If you are already maxed out with your IRA/401K there are good (but expensive) insurance products that allow you to defer more income.

Yess I have it but only a little bit. My husband has way more money on him since he's in the military and had been deployed so many times. Gotta be prepared in case something happens to him so that I can care for the kids once he's gone.

Yes, I have life insurance. Both through a benefits plan through my employer, and an additional plan that I fund myself. I have a kid, it would be irresponsible not to have arrangements in place in case something happens to me.
