My friends are not going to a party, should I go anyway?

I am an introvert who is a freshman in college and we have a party at a rooftop lounge in a few days but all my friends (close ones) are not going for some xyz reasons, I really wanted to go because it seems like a cool location and it's an opportunity to make some new friends but I can't go by myself now can I?
I did reach out to some other batchmate who I'm acquainted with but we don't know each other well (college started a few weeks ago) and he said he's going and that I should join them but I think he was just being nice and it would be weird if I just decided to join his friend circle. What do you guys think, should I go or no? I only have 2 hours to decide after that I can't pay for the registration.

Sometimes when one is going out to meet women it is better to go alone. Often a large friend group can hinder an individual looking for a girl. The girls have so much more to choose from and immediately eliminate all but one. You may be surprised that you will meet many more people going out alone.

I don't see why not. It might do you a lot of good to go alone and you never know whom you might meet.
