There's this friend of mine who used to be my best friend. We were practically inseparable, always doing everything together. But then, we had a big fight and ended up going our separate ways for almost a year. It was tough because she was my only friend, and when my graduation ceremony came around, no one showed up to support me. It broke my heart to see everyone with their friends and family while I stood there alone. Even my own family couldn't make it, so I decided to have a small celebration at my house. Surprisingly, I invited my friend, hoping she would come, but she didn't. That was the moment I realized I had to let go and move on.
After a few months, out of the blue, she sent me an apology, expressing how much she missed me and wanted to be friends again. We met up, had a heartfelt discussion, and slowly started rebuilding our friendship. However, during that year apart, she made a lot of new friends and became closer to them. I understand that things change, and it's only fair considering we weren't in touch for so long. Now, she's inviting me to her graduation ceremony next month, but honestly, I'm not sure if I want to go. I know it might sound selfish, but why should I go? She'll have her new group of friends there, and they all seem to be close to each other. As an introverted person, I'll end up feeling alone in that crowd. Besides, it seems like she prefers her new group over me, so I don't really see the point of attending.

Graduation ceremonies are often a big deal and so it also whom to invite. She wants you to be there and the least you can do, especially for your friendship, is for you to go. A suggestion is to let your friend know that you are coming but due to other commitments you can’t stay to long. Once there, you leave when you feel like it. Yes, she has new friends and all, but your presence means something to her and showing up will show how much you care and miss her.
I know it’s a big deal, but why didn’t she think about it that way when I invited her when she knew she was my only friend. But I don't know maybe i’ll go
I would suggest you to go and show her how much you missed her. Let her know you will be there for her.!
